Friends, family, fellow freaks,
It is the end of an era in the Dirty Hippie world.
For over seven and a half years, we have worked hard to offer the best apparel, accessories, gifts, and customer service as we could. Keeping a business of this capacity open is hard. Unfortunately, no matter how much we have tried, our sales have not been able to match our expenses. After several years operating in hopes of sustainable growth, I have made the difficult decision to close the store as it is. It has become too expensive to maintain inventory and payroll.
Lately, we often hear about how "people don't want to work." I want to clarify, at Dirty Hippie, that couldn't be further from the truth. My employees have worked hard, been incredibly devoted and loyal, and tried their best to increase sales and turn a profit. Maria and Trista have shown their devotion through representing Dirty Hippie at local markets, launching live sales, developing the app, and delivering engaging events to the community, like our pictures with Santa and our annual drive through trick or treat.
I have been struggling with a hurt back and pelvis most of this year, and through my time resting, I have felt called to other ventures. Despite operating at a loss, I have always trusted I would know when it's time to fold, and I feel God tugging at my heart, letting me know that time has come. I have decided to reduce business operations significantly and go back towards the original concept for my business, which was my handmade creations.
I don't know what Dirty Hippie will become in the upcoming months, so please stay tuned as it evolves.
I want to thank everyone for the support and love you have shown us over the years.
Our storefront is currently open Wednesday - Friday 10am - 5pm and Saturday 10am - 2pm. In store/curbside pickup will be available during this time.
